Market Rasen Town  1    Heckington United  3

United travelled to Rase Park to meet Town, who have returned this season to the Lincolnshire League after a long absence and have had a mid table start to this season.
Heckington manager Terry Smith had Craig Wells available for selection but last weeks central defensive pair of Alan Forwood and Richard Meldrum being forced to withdraw which meant another start for young Harry Kirwan. Top scorer Nathan Thompson was also missing due to injury.

United started brightly and Luke Hollingworth had an early effort very well saved by the Town keeper. At the other end Neil Terry stood up well to a chance for the big Rasen forward. Lee Llewellyn also shot over when well placed as Heckington settled and started to pass the ball well. On 14 mins one such move resulted in the opening goal. Hollingworth receiving the ball with his back to goal surrounded by defenders but still managed to feed Llewellyn in behind the Town back line. He unselfishly crossed into in coming Ewan Clarke who converted (0-1) Rasen replied by winning a few corners but still Heckington looked dangerous. Outstanding Skipper Paul Reece fed a great ball through and Clarke raced forward to beat the keeper but unfortunately saw his shot clear the crossbar as well.
Rasen had a good chance to equalise just before the break as a striker went past Terry but a great last ditch tackle by Kirwan saved his side.Only just time for one more United attack and they made it pay. Hollingworth played in a great delivery from a free kick on the right. Clarke came off his man to flick the ball over his marker and the keeper for his second. (H/T 0-2)

Rasen came out playing with a new intensity in the second half as Heckington defended their lead and struggled to get their passing going again. Half chances only for 20 mins before Heckington made the game safe. Terry saved a free kick and threw to breaking Tom Robinson, good support by the energetic Glen Robinson saw his goal bound shot deflected for a corner. Hollingworth delivered and the contested ball fell at the far post for Harry Kirwan to volley in from close range (0-3) Full back Carl Wilson had to be replaced, after receiving a late challenge that required a hospital visit that thankfully revealed no break, as United introduced Jason Bullock and Ed Robinson. Market Rasen Town grabbed a late consolation from a header following a free kick.
