A good size crowd had gathered on a cold and sunny afternoon, and they where soon rewarded with a goal after two minutes by Skegness United. A find flowing move from front to back starting with Danny Stevens with a cross field ball to McCauley Parker who moved the ball on to Kurt Crossley who found Andy Reeson and beat keeper Cooke from close range. United continued to take the game to Lincoln, however the viistors were always looking to open up the home defence. Lincoln had a great chance to draw level when a poor clearance from Ben Pritchard in the home goal found Luke Shipman. With only the keeper to beat shot wide of the post. United increased their lead on 25 minutes when Kurt Crossley scored his 14th goal of the season. The game upto half- time was an entertaining encounter between two sides who wanted to play open football. United went in a half-time with a two goal advantage.
Within 10 minutes of the restart three goals had been scored. On 51 minutes Andy Reeson had scored his second of the match, and three minutes later Danny Stevens getting the final touch from a United corner. The next minute Lincoln got themselves on the score sheet when Adam Wilcockson reduced the arrears. At this point United made two changes with the Hallam brothers being replaced by new signing John Atkinson from Mablethorpe making his debut and John Courtney. United continued to look for further goals and made another change on 60 minutes when Joby Gowshall replaced Jamie Skinner. Within 2 minutes United had five on the board when captain Jordan Walden scored number five.
