Humbertherm began the game brightly attacking down the hill with the wind and went ahead after 15 minutes through a near post header from a corner finished well by Scott Smith. Humberther had a great chance to go further ahead when Hanton was fouled in the box by Melton but Ruston custodian Kemp saved brilliantly from the resultatnt spot kick. Rustons came into the game follwoing this penalty save and went close before the break with efforts from Phipps and Coulson. Rustons with the wind at the backs down the hill in the second half piled on the pressure and went close through Gladding before Niall Forbes missed an open goal from all of three yards. The game erupted after 65 minutes when an altercation outside the Rustons box led to a red card for Humbertherms Hanton and a yellow card for Rustons Melton, then within two minutes the referee then sent Rustons Coulson off for a further off the ball incident. Rustons dealt with being down to ten men far better and equalised through Melton attacking a Forbes corner well. Rustons went close through Phipps and Jamieson and Humbertherm had a couple of breakaway chances through Simmonds before the game ended in an entertaining draw.
